So long as you can offer something of value to the community you can have from the community goods and services of like value. Join the growing community who have discovered a new way of 'doing' money. Thames Green Dollar Exchange.

THAMES GREEN DOLLAR EXCHANGE,

A  COMMUNITY FRIENDLY TRADING SYSTEM………..

TG$E is a community based trading system with a network of members offering a wide variety of goods and services and skills within a local network. Such systems are commonly also known as Local Exchange and Trading  Systems (LETS).

With its own internal currency and system of recording transactions, trading is done without the use of conventional money but a ‘mutual credit system instead. We call our currency Green Dollars or G$ and our community exchange system (CES) is now fully online and accessible through the internet.

The TG$E offers many advantages, including a free credit line for new members, enabling you to start     trading immediately. Members are encouraged to trade   regularly to keep their trading balance moving between debit and credit, with an emphasis on trade rather than accumulation, hoarding and debt. The system works best for all participants in a reciprocal fashion–

it is a continuous “give and take”.

FROM THE NZ GOVERNMENT  WORK AND INCOME WEBSITE:

Green Dollar Trading

Green Dollar trading is a system of barter and exchange in which goods, services, and credits can be given without the need for cash. Trading with 'green dollars' falls within the definition of income. Green dollars are treated as income when you assess the rate of benefit payment.

A Management Board administers each scheme. The Management Board keeps a record, similar to a banking system and each member is, from time to time, issued a statement showing their debit and credit situation.

The value of any goods, services, or credits is to be charged as income at the time the service or credit is given. Confirmation of regular trading should be obtained through these statements.

Note it is stressed that a liberal interpretation of what constitutes regular trading and income is to be adopted. Periodic payments for what is little more than a good deed for another person will not be considered as regular income in the assessment of the respective benefit.

As a guide to help you decide cases, you should consider whether the person has clearly established themselves as a regular trader within the scheme then income received will be chargeable.
